i think that the quote means that what the person thinks about defines them in a certain way.

In his lifetime, Ralph Waldo Emerson became the most widely known man of letters in America, establishing himself as a prolific poet, essayist, popular lecturer, and an advocate of social reforms who was nevertheless suspicious of reform and reformers.

After spending more than a decade in the world of personal development, I can share with you that it seems that Waldo has been quoted more than any other I can think of besides the Bible.

He was definitely a thinker… which is a bit of a pun, but the thought here is that if you focus and think about what you want and really work hard on obtaining it, that you will eventually have what you think about.

Another great quote from Waldo was: “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.”
